Taking care of yourself doesn't always come easy, and you may feel daunted by the gap between where you are and where you want to be. That's normal, and it's OK. Recognizing that is the first step.
But it doesn't have to be painful! I'll help prevent you from getting discouraged or overwhelmed at every step of the way.
You'll see results. And trust me, it gets easier over time.
I experienced migraines, insomnia, ongoing back and neck pain, and emotional eating - and, I still do from time to time when I get off track. But I remind myself that burning the candle at both ends is not an option - when I did that, the stress of it all landed me in the hospital with myocarditis.
Never again. Life - and our body - is too precious a gift to throw away.
I figured out how to apply the tools and my experiences to find a better way. And I can help you do the same.
I've had my share of challenges when it comes to nutritious eating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As a busy physician raising three kids, it was easy to compromise on my eating, be inconsistent with exercise and sleep, and get derailed by difficult emotions like guilt, self doubt, anxiety, and overwhelm.

Know About ME:
I attended George Washington University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine and pathology. I also earned a Master's in Nutrition from Columbia University, where I studied the relationship between nutrition and stress.
My love of nutrition and lifestyle medicine is inspired by my mother's family in Brazil, where I learned to use food and herbs as medicine and that we're meant to eat fresh whole foods.
I am an author and Co-Founder of The Serotonin Diet with Judith Wurtman, PhD. We have helped tens of thousands of people struggling with antidepressant-related
weight gain and emotional eating curb uncontrollable cravings, lose weight, and feel better. I'm also proficient in several languages, a mom of three college students, and a certified yoga instructor.
